It’s not just art that inspires us, our new 10 Questions series features some of our favourite personalities from the worlds of wellness, fashion and culture. Over a matcha, we find out what makes them tick and where they go to get inspired.
First up, Nathalie Schyllert, general manager of Intelligent Change and co-owner of Bodyism, where Lisa Sharpe’s portal painting was recently on display.
What three words would you use to describe Bodyism?
Bodyism, to me, is purposeful, holistic, transformative, focusing on a purpose-driven, holistic approach to transform lives through fitness, mindset and well-being.
Why do you do what you do?
My passion for holistic health, growth mindset and empowering people drives me. Witnessing positive transformations and improved well-being fuels my dedication.
What is your idea of a perfect day in London?
It starts with breakfast at Granger & Co. with my husband and three kids, followed by a Signature class at Bodyism.
What’s inspiring you in life right now?
I am inspired by learning new things, after recently starting a new role as the general manager at Intelligent Change. I’m also inspired by the potential for growth, learning, and positive impact in the lives of others.
Where do you go to get inspired?
I meet with new people and create new connections at all sorts of places. It could be at a friend’s house, work or during my travels.
What art do you most identify with?
I identify with expressive and abstract art. The freedom of interpretation and deep emotions showcased through these forms captivate me.
Do you have a favourite artist?
Yayoi Kusama is one of my favourite artists. Her avant-garde style and unique perspective on reality inspire me.
Where do you plan on getting your autumn art fill?
I plan to indulge my artistic senses at exhibitions like the Tate Modern's autumn showcase.
What is the last book that you read?
Linchpin by Seth Godin.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
To embrace change and always to think positively. Life's transformations are stepping stones towards becoming our best selves.
