Jessica Zoob, Passion
Size wise, it is made from six canvases each standing two meters in height and between one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half meters in width. Together, and they have only ever been exhibited together once, they make a staggering piece of work that’s 17 meters in length.
Subject wise, Passion is a flowing rendition of all four seasons of the year. Starting from spring in Passion 1, passing through summer in Passions 2 & Passion 3, autumn in Passion 4 & 5, before the majestic winter in Passion 6, the total work is an expressive interpretation of the year’s passing.
Springtime flowers, vibrant colours, explosive compositions and quiet moments tell us a lot about the artist’s impression of the year. It is a visual score sheet, like reading Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, an almanac of the seasons and their characteristics.
Loughran Gallery were proud to be the hosts of the event which saw Passion in its entirety for the first and last time. ONE was our celebratory anniversary show, and with the kind permission of the owners of Passions 2, 4 & 5, we were able to display this extraordinary piece to celebrate.
With Spring, Summer and Winter still available in the form of Passions 1, 3 and 6, there's still chance to capture your favourite part of the year and keep it in your home!
